Why can't I make time to paint???...

I make time to knit, and sleep in, drink exorbitant amounts of coffee, sometimes I even read or watch TV. Why can't I seem to make time to paint? I have set up a space in the extra bedroom upstairs just for me to paint. I have three or four several year old projects to finish and I can't seem to even step foot in the room. :(

I have to fix this!

Back in the Saddle again!

Okay, so what is happening now? I'm busy busy in life, as usual. But! I have plans! My high school, Tacoma School of the Arts is holding a benifit in April. They have sent out a "call for artists" to the alum and I am going to submit....something. So I now have to get back into the saddle. This Saturday should be a perfect opportunity to get  some ideas down. My lovely, amazing, talented, fabulous, handsome, and generaly wonderful partner, Carlos Quintero, is running a artist gathering called "Art Soup" this Saturday. It's a monthly gathering and this month is a visioning and bring your own projects day. So there will be doodling galore. I will post the ideas. And feed back would be appreciated. :)

Busy, Busy, Busy.........

Ok...So this last week has been a crazy mess of trying to fit everything in. Work, clutter and food all took up there usual allotment but then there was cleaning, and painting, and project proposals and the much needed quality time with friends I haven't seen in months. So sleep took a bit of a back seat but I do have some progress photos to show for it all.

A nearly finished still life. I've been yammering on about painting a bunch of these and am now finally putting my brush where my mouth is (only not really cause that would taste bad and I do buy the high quality paints so it would be dangerous as well)

In process pics of the plate I'm painting to auction off for charity at, The Painted Plate, during arts walk. You should go and bid. It would be awesome if someone I new bought it. Then I could visit it. ;)

Commisions

So there's actual quite a bit going on  with my art these days.  I'm working on my first commission proposal for a portrait. I've also been asked by The Painted Plate (Olympia, WA) to paint a plate for a charity silent auction to be held to help relief in the Gulf.  I'm also painting a still life for my cousin's wedding gift. I'll post process pics of the plate and still life once have them. And if anyone would like a portrait painted I've lade down a lot of the ground work in this proposal so just let me know you're interested.
